Jackson Preschool is located in La Salle, IL. The population of La Salle is 9,418 (2013). La Salle sits in western La Salle County at the intersection of interstates 80 and 39.  The school is located on 6th Street in La Salle and down the road from La Salle-Peru High School.


Jackson Preschool is composed of 3-5 year olds with an enrollment of approximately 100 students.  The school operates on a morning and afternoon schedule. The AM schedule runs from 8:30-11:10 and the PM schedule from 12:10-2:50. Trimesters of 12 weeks make up the school year.  The program is funded by the Preschool for All (PfA) grant set by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).


The PreK faculty includes 4 certified teachers, 4 paraprofessionals, 1 social worker, 1 speech pathologist, 1 school psychologist, and 1 school nurse.  Of the 4 teachers, 1 holds a master’s degree.

Jackson Preschool uses Creative Curriculum as the foundation for teaching. Creative Curriculum features exploration and discovery as a way of learning. Student engage in play for about an hour each day. The centers the students can choose from include: dramatic play, art, music/movement, blocks, sand/water, discovery, math, toys/games, cooking, outdoor, and library. A typical schedule is included below.
